Earn credentials before completing your AAS
Did you know?
You can earn multiple awards in HCC’s Interior Design Program! Along with our AAS in Interior Design, we have a Level 1 Certificate in Interior Decorating and a Level 2 Certificate in Kitchen and Bath Design.
Certificates provide students with foundational skills, enabling them to start working in the field of interior design while continuing their studies. This early credential can lead to entry-level positions and industry experience before they graduate.
If you have completed or will be completing the following courses, you can apply for your Level 1 Certificate in Interior Decorating:
MATH 1332 - Contemporary Mathematics Credits: 3 or Any College Leve Math
INDS 1311 - Fundamentals of Interior Design Credits: 3
INDS 1319 - Technical Drawing for Interior Designers Credits: 3
INDS 1301 - Basic Elements of Design Credits: 3
INDS 2307 - Textiles for Interior Design Credits: 3
INDS 2325 - Professional Practices for Interior Designers Credits: 3 (Capstone)
To file, contact your advisor or our favorite Shaun Hooey - shaundelyn.hooey@hccs.edu and let them know you are ready to file for the Level 1 Certificate.
If you are currently on another plan, they will move you to the Level 1 plan to file and then move you back to your original plan.
We will have our advisor on-site at the Interior Design Advising Event this Wednesday!
